Coaching begins before your pre-operation appointment with your doctor and includes support on the day of your surgery. You’ll feel grounded and confident with a post-surgery plan and personal support system to help you maintain your sobriety every step of the say.
We start with education so that you’re prepared with the right questions to ask in your pre-operation appointment with your doctor or surgeon.
From which alternative medications to request to how to handle pushback from your medical team, I’ll make sure you are prepared and supported as you communicate with your medical team prior to your surgery.
Together, we’ll create and implement a non-addictive pain management plan that works for your life.
I’ll arm you with at-home resources so you know how to prepare your medical team to assist you. We’ll navigate every “what-if” scenario that could potentially come up during and after your surgery.
Often, narcotics are prescribed without considering a patient’s history with addiction and recovery.
This is why you need to be very involved and communicative prior to, during, and after your medical procedure. You can advocate for yourself and safeguard your sobriety. I’ll guide you and your family through every single step of your medical procedure process. Coaching sessions can take place in whatever format is most convenient for you: in-person (in the San Diego area), on the phone, via Zoom, or text.
